Israeli Madonna Fans Implore PM to (At Least) Postpone Iran Attack
Haaretz is reporting that Madonna’s Israeli fans are pleading with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to forgo launching any attacks on Iran until Madonna’s scheduled performance on May 29th in Tel Aviv - the nation’s party capital - has come and gone. They’ve even launched a Facebook page to formalize their efforts, with a name that is hard to misunderstand:
The group, simply and directly enough was named, “Bibi don’t start a war with Iran until after Madonna’s show on May 29.”What is their concern? That an attack will prompt the Material Girl to cancel her show, a fear that is not unfounded. Popular bands Depeche Mode and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have cancelled performances in the country in the past due to internal conflict. Fans of the Queen of Pop hope to avoid such an outcome. No comment thus far, and likely none expected, from Netanyahu.
